Since March 2026, Risen from Ruins has continued an exciting journey across the international festival circuit, reaching audiences in several countries and giving us many reasons to celebrate.

One of the most important milestones came at the Brussels Short Film Festival, where the film celebrated its International Premiere. The screening became even more special when Risen from Ruins received the Next Generation International Audience Award. For us, this recognition was particularly meaningful because it came directly from the audience and showed that the film’s story and message resonated beyond its original context.

The international journey continued with the film’s Bulgarian Premiere at IN THE PALACE International Short Film Festival, alongside further festival appearances in Germany, including KURZSUECHTIG – Mitteldeutsches Kurzfilmfestival, LICHTER Filmfest Frankfurt International, the Internationales Filmfest Emden-Norderney, the Open Air Filmfest Weiterstadt and the Taunus Filmfest.

And the journey is far from over.

In September, Risen from Ruins will celebrate its Canadian Premiere at the Edmonton International Film Festival, bringing the film to a North American audience for the first time.

Another major highlight will follow shortly afterwards: the film has been selected for the Lucca Film Festival, where it will celebrate its Italian Premiere. Being part of the programme in Lucca is a particularly important step for us and another wonderful opportunity to present the film to an international audience.

Further upcoming screenings include the International Tour Film Festival in Italy, the Biberacher Filmfestspiele in Germany and the BOO International Film Festival in Prague, where Risen from Ruins will celebrate its Czech Premiere.

Looking back at the past months, we are incredibly happy and grateful to see how far the film has travelled. What began with its World Premiere at the Internationale Hofer Filmtage has developed into an international festival journey across Europe and beyond.

Above all, it means a great deal to us that the film’s message continues to reach new audiences in different cultural contexts. Every selection, screening and audience reaction shows us that the themes at the heart of Risen from Ruins can connect with people far beyond the place where the film was made.

We are deeply grateful to all the festivals that have welcomed the film, to the audiences who have watched and discussed it, and to everyone who has accompanied Risen from Ruins on this journey.
