Prodigal Son tells the story of a (not very) young man who is trapped in the web of his parent's love. Unequipped with self-esteem outside of the approval of his overbearing mother and a passive, distracted father, he sees his chance at rebellion in the form of his birthday present. When his parents give him a car, what seemed to be a ticket to independence quickly transforms into a violent spree of destruction.
“Prodigal Son” is the first single from Chin´s debut album “Fairway Hits”.
The video premiered in June 2022 and is visually inspired by video productions from the 1990s. Everything is there: background projections, real, long zoom shots and bright, colorful light atmospheres. However, these elements have been combined with modern camera and computer technology to create a unique, surreal style that does not rely on nostalgia.
Chin creates strong atmospheric songs with a pinch of nostalgia for the sweet old days of music.
Since their formation in 2017, Chin has been the ever evolving collaborative project of songwriters Nik Baczewski and Jonas Eschner.
